Ironies of India

The irony of a Common Indian: Stereotypes of Indian’s Mentality

From the title of this blog, you get my point and the idea of what I want to deliver here. If you are an Indian then it’s for you and if not Indian then you have to read it to learn more, it's not just because I want to point out the mistakes we do but we can assure ourselves to raise a voice against it and can improve. What irony is it? It generally means an expression that one makes but the result is different and we have to empathize with that, also the language we use in it sounds in a taunt and in a humorous way.

India is a land of culture, tradition, custom, religion, diversity, Gods, food, heritage, ancient history, oldest civilization, democracy, languages, secularism, brightest mind, brave soldier, agriculture, festivals, and a lot more (no one can write about India and it’s all diversified culture because for that we need to write a whole book). All of this I mentioned is true to a larger extent but what I am going to tell is also true to some extent, India is also a land of corruption, false beliefs, fake monks, fake spiritual leaders, corrupt politicians, hunger, poor people, bundles of illiterate fellows, jobless graduate, vast population, stereotypes and a lot of ironies.

Yes, we indeed have to accept it….lets take a look from the Indian's perspective to understand it is a better way because as I earlier mentioned all we have is stereotypes and irony in ourselves by default.

Common Indian Perspective for Stereotypes

All Indians have a level of hypocrisy because whenever any social conflicts occur everybody uses to filter them according to their needs. No one accepts right or wrong all have a sabbatical mind to debate. Indians are the only ones who believe that to marry a stranger is common but talking to a stranger is dangerous. No one can change this mentality until and even we do anything on this we have to think before we do anything like this and have to break the ice. Our parents teach us this but now when we can make decisions we have to change this mentality.

Few more examples that will show you the real picture of Indians stereotype are as follow:-

·       It is okay to piss in public but not okay to kiss ( even you are married you have to think twice to shit in a park together, you never know from where the Bajrang-Dal people will come and beat you even the Police will see you with doubt).

·       Using vile words in English is considered cool and in Hindi it uncool and it is no doubt if someone thinks that you are uncouth, the obsession for English is bigger than the National language ( everyone wants to speak in English but how Many of them want to communicate in Hindi. English became a status symbol).

·       Lots of Hindu and Muslim fight for their religious book Gita and Quran respectively but no one has read that book completely either (all books convey the message for peace but both the community wants to see their school of thoughts upper).

·       In Elections usually, in other countries, people vote for deserving candidates but in India, the Indians vote for a less disliked candidate (criticism for a politician is another thing but to vote for the candidate who is not deserving is not right either).

·       In a country where the cow is considered as your mother and daughter are considered as lord Laxmi, but still ‘bethi baap ke kandho par bojh hai’. I don’t understand this sort of irony and why here in India a father spends more money on his daughter's wedding than her studies.

·       You need to be qualify or educated for a government peon, but you can run the whole a country without even attending school or college ( the unbelievable truth no politician needs to show their mark sheet to be a minister)

·       All the parents want to see their kids become big sportsmen and actors or businessmen but how many of them want to sacrifice like the fathers of these big personalities did.

·       Film actors earn more money from one film than the lifetime income of a soldier ( Indian soldier doesn’t get fame even after martyr then a film stars an infant baby gets)

·       Poor people don’t have food to eat and we waste food at weddings.

·       People used to donate to the temple more than to give the poor and to donate to educational and health institutes.

·       Everyone wants to get a degree but no one wants knowledge.

·       We Indians have to see both the side of the road before crossing even the road is one-way.

All of these points are just an outlook of Indian’s mentality and what they are suffering from. I am an Indian too I feel very bad by looking at those things, but a single one cant do anything we need to be united and have to change all of this. We don’t need to do much we just have to change our mentality and the world around us will automatically change.
